Information for visitors with reduced mobility

From Curaplatz (disabled parking available) through the five courtyards to the main castle (around 1 km) the path is accessible for wheelchairs.

The inner castle courtyard is mostly on one level (cobblestones with smoothed paths).

The rooms in the State Castle Museum can only be reached via steps, and the direct route from the old town to the castle is steep with steps.

Barrier-free toilets are available in the visitors’ centre in the main castle, at Curaplatz and in the first courtyard.

Here you will find a plan of Burghausen Castle.

Photography and filming

Photo and film shootings as well as the flying of drones / multicopters are basically subject to approval and charges. Here you will find information on photography permits / film permits. Taking pictures for private use in the museum (without light and tripod etc.) or on the castle grounds does not require a permit.

Bulky items may not be taken into the museum rooms. Lockers are available near the cash desk for large bags, rucksacks, photo equipment etc. Prams and child carriers can be left at the cash desk. No liability can be accepted for items deposited in lockers or at the cash desk.

Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the museum. Unfortunately, we cannot offer supervision for animals brought along. Please keep dogs on a lead on the castle grounds.

Food / beverages

Food and beverages may not be taken into the museum rooms.
